Systems & Monitoring Collaborations
The Trauma Systems and Monitoring Group is supported by the
Victorian Trauma
Foundation (VTF) and work closely with a number of groups involved in
trauma. These include:
NSW Institute of Trauma & Injury Management (ITIM)
- Ms. Trish McDougall (Executive Manager)
NSW ITIM gives state-wide direction to the management of the NSW Trauma
System through six key NSW ITIM Committees which have diverse
cross-clinical membership from rural and metropolitan health services.

Department of Epidemiology & Preventive Medicine

DEPM plays a prominent role in public health medicine in Australia. The
core skills of the department relate to epidemiology (the study of the
distribution, risk factors and causes of disease) and its application to
problems in clinical medicine and public health.

level of pre-hospital emergency care and patient transport to Melbourne’s
3.4 million residents. MAS is one of the most progressive ambulance
services in the world, boasting operational staff with specialist medical

Rural Ambulance Victoria
Rural Ambulance Victoria services a population of 1.3 million people. It
employs 700 full time equivalent staff plus 350 volunteer Community
Ambulance Officers at 113 branches located throughout rural Victoria,
covering an area of approximately 215,000 square kilometres.
