Closure of the VTF Centre for Trauma Research & Practice

The National Trauma Research Institute would like to notify our colleagues that the VTF Centre for Trauma Research & Practice will cease to operate as a Centre on June 30th, 2006. As the NTRI expands its vision nationally, the decision has been made to absorb the successful aspects of the work of the VTF Centre into the broader NTRI Program.

The VTF Centre has been operational since January 2004. Over the past 2 ½ years the Centre has delivered a number of trauma educational initiatives aiming to provide support to trauma clinicians and researchers across Victoria. The NTRI would like to acknowledge the work of the Centre's Director, Professor Thomas Kossmann; the Program Manager, Ms Jennifer Thompson; the Administrative Accounts Officer, Mr Erno Kocsis; and the Trauma Research Advisors, Ms Louise Shiel and Dr Jemma Skeat in the operations of the VTF-CTRP over the last few years. Also the Trauma Research Fellows: Ms Helen Ackland, Ms Jacqui Morarty, and Mr Stephen Mulholland who have spent time working within the Centre over this time.
